Welcome to Mobile, the birthplace of Mardi Gras! While New Orleans is now more widely known for its Mardi Gras celebrations, Mobile's first Mardi Gras event was in 1703, predating New Orleans' first celebration by several years.
Mobile has continuously celebrated Mardi Gras since 1703, and many of the traditions we associate with the celebration today, such as masked balls, parades, and floats, were first featured in Mobile.
Fittingly, Mobile's unofficial city slogan is "Born to Celebrate," and we look forward to celebrating another successful Congress with you!
